How to create inexpensive plant labels for you home garden or botanic garden and nursery. 
Each label contains Botanic name, Common name and a QR code that connects to PlantFile Online
with detailed information that is read out, an image and a PDF report that can be generated all at no cost.
These labels have been trailed and have survived in exposed positions for over 7 years.



1) Create a template in Adobe illustrator or simular to fit into laminating pouches that are 59mm x 83mm as seen below.
2) Copy and past the relevant information from PlantFile into your design. Download the QR code for each species from PlantFile and scale to fit. 
3) Once completed save the file and print it out onto quality paper that is at least 200gsm.
4) Cut each label to the appropriate size using a paper cutter.
5) Laminate each label using pouches.

Mounting Panel

To display your plant label it is advisable to glue it to a mounting panel. This can be made from timber, plastic or other suitable weather ristant material.
1) Cut your material to 70mm x 90mm then drill four holes that are at least 15mm inside from the margin and then counter sink each hole (see image below).
2) Sand or smooth to remove any bumps and then paint them white.
3) The mounting panel can then be attached to the tree or shrub using a stake, spring or screw utlising the holes in the panel.
4) Once afixed apply a clear drying glue to the back of the plant label and place it on the mounting panel squairly to cover the mounting holes.
